Some common features of fruit and vegetable cold rooms include refrigeration systems, insulated walls, temperature and humidity controls, and air circulation systems. Some cold rooms also use technology such as ethylene scrubbers and CO2 injection systems to further optimize storage conditions and extend the shelf life of the produce.

From various research carried out by our team of engineers, it has been discovered that their no single temperature that is suitable for all fruits and vegetables. In other words, the temperature that is suitable for a particular fruit may not be good for the other. Factors that influence the level of temperature that will good for a particular fruit or vegetable are;
● Time of harvest
● Crop maturity
● Origin of the fruit or vegetable
Usually, fruits or vegetable harvested during the cool season should be stored with a temperature of between 0 to 2°C. Meanwhile, fruits or vegetable harvested during the warmer season should be stored with a temperature of about 7 to 10°C. Fruits like cucumber and tomatoes can be stored with this temperature. However, other fruits may require a different temperature.
